The Climbing Works

One of the world's largest bouldering centres, in the city that invented modern gritstone climbing.

The Climbing Works opened in 2006 and grew into one of the biggest dedicated bouldering walls anywhere, with thousands of square metres of problems reset constantly across several rooms.

It draws climbers from all over the world, hosts the CWIF international competition, and has a cafe and shop — fitting for a city on the edge of the Peak's gritstone edges.
