Lyceum Theatre
A gilded Edwardian playhouse on Tudor Square hosting West End tours, opera and pantomime.
Opened in 1897 and the last surviving theatre designed by W.G.R. Sprague outside London, the Lyceum was saved from demolition and restored in 1990. Its horseshoe auditorium, plasterwork and painted ceiling are the finest Victorian theatre interior in the region.
Programming leans towards touring musicals, opera, ballet and a long-running Christmas pantomime, complementing the Crucible next door.
