Bishops' House

Sheffield's best-preserved timber-framed house, a 500-year-old yeoman's home above Meersbrook Park.

Built around 1500, Bishops' House is the most complete timber-framed house left in Sheffield, with wattle-and-daub panels, original plasterwork and rooms laid out as they would have been for a prosperous yeoman family.

It sits at the top of Meersbrook Park, which gives one of the best free views back over the city centre. The house is run by volunteers and opens on limited days.
