Porter Valley & Forge Dam
A green corridor of old mill dams and woodland running from the suburbs to the moor edge.
The Porter Brook is followed by a near-continuous path from Endcliffe Park up through Bingham Park and Whiteley Woods to Forge Dam, passing the dams and wheel pits that once drove Sheffield's grinding wheels.
Forge Dam at the top has a much-loved cafe and a playground; Shepherd Wheel, a restored water-powered grinding workshop, sits halfway along and opens to visitors free of charge.
