Shepherd Wheel Workshop
A working water-powered knife-grinding workshop in the woods, free to visit.

Shepherd Wheel is the last surviving water-powered grinding workshop of its kind in Sheffield, with a large wooden waterwheel driving the grindstones exactly as it did in the eighteenth century.
Volunteers run the wheel on opening days and explain the work of the grinders — it is free, tiny and sits right on the Porter Valley path.
