A fifteen-minute walk north of the cathedral, Kelham Island's cutlery works and foundries have been reworked into taprooms, breweries and food halls. The Fat Cat and the Kelham Island Tavern are long-standing real ale institutions; Cutlery Works and Peddler Night Market cover the street food side.

It is compact enough to walk between everything and sits right beside Kelham Island Museum, which makes for an easy afternoon-into-evening combination.
