Wincobank Hill & Hillfort
An Iron Age hillfort on a steep green hill with a sweeping view over the Don valley.
The ramparts on top of Wincobank Hill are the remains of an Iron Age fort, later thought to have been used against the Romans, and they are still clearly readable in the ground.
The climb is short but steep and the reward is a panorama over the whole Lower Don valley, the steelworks, Meadowhall and the moors beyond.
