Ponds Forge

An Olympic-standard 50-metre pool and diving complex in the city centre, open to the public.

Built for the 1991 World Student Games, Ponds Forge has a 50-metre competition pool, a full diving pit with 10-metre boards, a leisure pool with flumes for children and a large sports hall.

It is genuinely central — a few minutes from the station — and open for public swimming daily alongside its role as a national competition venue.
