Fargate & Orchard Square
The pedestrianised heart of the city centre, with the famous clock and a run of high street shops.

Fargate is Sheffield's main pedestrian shopping street, running from the Town Hall up to the cathedral, with Orchard Square's brick courtyard and its clock — where mechanical figures strike the hour — opening off it.
Street markets, buskers and the Christmas market all land here, and it connects the Peace Gardens, the Winter Garden and the cathedral in one straight walk.
