Turner Museum of Glass
A free, little-known collection of studio and historic glass inside the university's engineering building.
Named after Professor W. E. S. Turner, who founded glass science teaching in Sheffield, the museum holds several thousand pieces spanning Roman glass, Victorian pressed ware and twentieth-century studio work.
It is small, free and easy to miss — displayed in cases through the Hadfield Building — and rewards anyone curious about how glass is actually made.
